Earth-Friendly Choices
If you need to recycle your Christmas tree, feel free to return it to the tree farm.
We will chip it and it will be used for flower beds or compost piles. Do not burn
your trees in wood stoves or fireplaces as they are highly flammable.
Trees must be free of tinsel, decorations, and other materials.
One of the best ways to to remove your tree is in a plastic tree bag or large garbage
bag that is placed under your tree over the tree handle before you put your
tree up. It is hidden with a tree skirt and will collect many of the needles and
contains the branches.
If you do not want to return your tree to the tree farm, there are other options
such as:
- Many communites offer roadside pickup
- Some communities have non-profit organizations that pick up trees — such as
scouts — for a small donation
- Some communities have recycling centers with free drop off locations
